Luna & Bethel

This website has been inactive for months now, but there was a reason for that. Our sweet little dog Luna died in July of 2007. Her final illness was brief, and she died in our arms.

Obviously, little dogs don't live forever, but Luna died relatively young and she died during a time of transition for us. We found and moved into a quirky little 1940s house right after Luna's death. We fell immediately in love with our new home, but there was a hole where Luna should have been.

There will never be another Luna, but we decided there could be a Buster. Luna's brief, vet visit filled life raised questions in our minds about the health of Toy Fox Terriers in general. Buster is a Chihuahua. Some days, Buster seems to be channelling Luna. He's a joy.

Luna's death raised challenges for us as a couple, and there was a personal challenge for me...I was left wondering what to do with this website. I know the format was weird. I know that not everyone loves pictures of fake poop. Things will change a little around here. However, at its core, the website was an attempt to find good news for the Gay and Lesbian community. God knows we have enough bad news.

Luna was a happy little dog, and she would have loved a perfect world for her family. I'm going to keep working toward that.

Luna and Bethel, the toy fox terriers, want to tell you now that the most exciting people that Luna and Bethel have seen in a Gay Pride Parade are...Dykes on Bikes! Dykes on Bikes get on their loud bikes and ride and lead parades and make loudness and just generally thrill Luna and Bethel! Now, Luna and Bethel heard that Dykes on Bikes had a very important court victory, YES THEY DID!!!! After three years of fighting and fighting, the San Francisco Women’s Motorcycle Contingent has riden right over the last obstacle to registering the Dykes on Bikes trademark! The last legal opposition was brought by some poop who said the name was disparaging to men. Luna and Bethel tell you now that Dykes on Bikes isn't against men, it's FOR riding bikes with your girl and feeling the wind in your hair and being a Dyke on a Bike, not "Oh, we hate men so we got bikes!"
